Faculty Scholars

The Arizona Geriatric Education Center will support the training/retraining of faculty to provide instruction in Interprofessional team care of aging adults through a Faculty Scholars in Aging IP (FSAIP) Training Certificate Program. The five health professions that will participate in the educational offerings include: Nursing, Advanced Practice Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Public Health, Psychology, Physician Assistant and Social Work. Overall goals of this program are to:

  1. Develop faculty with Interprofessional and discipline-specific geriatric competencies,
  2. Advance clinical practices specifically associated with positive health outcomes for older adults (improved Institute of Medicine triple aims: improving the experience of care, improving the health of populations, and reducing per capita costs of health care), and
  3. Champion the integration of geriatric principles and IP education and training into IP faculty coursework and clinical problems.
