Dr. Mindy Fain Named New Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Medicine
We're proud to share that Dr. Mindy Fain, Director of the University of Arizona Center on Aging and Director of the Arizona Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (AZ-GWEP), has been named Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Medicine, beginning in 2027.
Dr. Fain has served the journal as Specialty Editor in Practical Geriatrics since 2015 and brings more than four decades of clinical, academic, and editorial leadership in internal medicine, geriatrics, palliative care, and aging research. She holds the Anne and Alden Hart Professorship of Medicine and chairs the Division of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
She succeeds Joseph S. Alpert, MD, who has had an outstanding tenure as Editor-in-Chief.
Congratulations, Dr. Fain! We look forward to seeing the journal thrive under your leadership.
